Submission Guidelines
INTRODUCTION

Blood Moon Rising is the magazine for all things 'horror'.  We are also the aspiring writers
and artists showcase.  We are always looking for new talent for our Fiction, Poetry and Art
Departments.  Blood Moon Rising is NOW an online publication that can be read through
our main web site @ www.BloodMoonRisingMagazine.com and click on the cover icon to
view the magazine. All stories published will be in this new publishing format and NO printed
copies will be send out by mail. All writers and artist will be told of the issue that their work
will be in and when that issue will be coming out so they can check it out on the web site.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES AS FOLLOWS:

PART 1: SHORT STORIES

1) We will accept all kind of horror fiction, from vampire tales to "slasher" stories and anything in
between (but it must be in the realm of horror!!!!).  Tell us the tales that lurk within your mind!  We are not
looking for any sex tales or overuse of the "F---" word.  Violence is OK, without going overboard.

2) All submissions should be standard manuscript formatted.  Double-spaced, with one- inch all-around
margins,  2000 words or less, titled with your name above story.  It should be on Wordpad, which is
standard on most computers.  Your name, address phone number and email should be placed in the left
hand top corner.  

Submissions should only be sent by email to www.submissions@bloodmoonrisingmagazine.com.

3) All email submissions should be sent as attachments and preferably 2000 words or less.  Title and
name of author above story with name and mailing address in right hand corner, please.  If possible
send it on Wordpad to ensure being able to open it.

4) Only one story per author per issue.

If accepted, you will be notified in which issue and date when you submission will appear.  We do not pay
for any stories we accept.  You will receive a complementary pdf issue your work was in after it is taken
offline.

With the acceptance of your work, you agree that we will publish your work in our online issue in
addition to our pdf version of our magazine.  Once you have been accepted and published, it will not be
removed.  All magazines published by us are kept for archival purposes indefinitely.    

We now have a backlog so any short stories submitted now will be in issues starting Oct. 2013.  If there
is room in an earlier issue, we will let you know.
PART 2: ARTWORK

Blood Moon Rising is looking for sick, disturbing artwork for its Nightmarish Gallery Department.  We will
accept horror-related artwork of any kind with the exception of nudity and extreme graphic violence.

1) Artwork should be sent by email but we will accept on standard copy-size paper.  All hardcopies will be
kept and not returned.

2) Multiple submissions are encouraged (send as much artwork as you wish).

3) Name, address and e-mail address must be on the back of each piece of artwork submitted.

Submissions artwork should be sent by email, via attachment, but remember to include your name and
address as part of the attachment.  Send all artwork submissions to: DemonicLord64@aol.com.
PART 3: HORROR ARTICLES

We are looking for articles on horror movies and TV
shows as well as any bios of Actors, Writers and
Film Makers.  We want articles on horror
collectibles (toys and stuff) Halloween Masks and
Models.  Just horror, not Stars Wars of science
fiction.  Any articles on doing home made horror
makeup or How to articles on making items for
Halloween or for the general disturbed prankster.

PART 4: POETRY:

We are open to all forms of poetry but since this
is a horror magazine, we like something from the
dark side or horror related.  So no sunshine
happy stuff please.  Dark, sad, and sick stuff is
what we are looking for.

PART 5: BOOKS AND FILMS FOR REVIEW

If you have a new book coming out or movie to be previewed, we are always looking for independent
books and movies.  That is what we are all about and always looking for selections for Bloody Book
Reviews, Behind the Screams and for reviews and interviews.

Call us old fashioned but we prefer books we can hold.  Films can be on either VHS or DVD.

Attention Writers:  

Short stories and poems sent to Blood Moon Rising will NOT be removed from the magazine ONCE
PUBLISHED by us for any reason. It's unfair to our readers and to other writers to lose a chance in
an issue when we need to retract your fiction.  By our acceptance of your work for publication, you
agree to have you work publish by our magazine and stay there until the end of publication of the
particular issue which you work is in.  If this is an issue, then we respectfully request you to Not
Submit it to us in the first place.   As of this date, 11/15/2010,  this policy we be in place.
