Blood Notes

By AL J. Vermette

Welcome to the Halloween issue of Blood Moon Rising! This Halloween season will be a little special for us here at BMR since we will be returning to our annual Halloween stage show Blood Fest after the COVID nightmare that shut us down the last two years. This year’s live stage show will be even better than ever because for the first time since 2007, we are doing a nighttime event as we have moved Blood Fest to a new location. Now Blood Fest will play at the Keystone Stage 125 Lackawanna Ave Olyphant PA 18447 from 8 pm until midnight Saturday, October 22. This all-new show and location will bring two rock bands with bigger costumes and scream contests along with a mini haunted house. The haunted house will be the biggest in Blood Fest history as before we had a haunted entrance way into the theater, but now we will be expanding that into a full attraction of its own as people enter the Keystone Stage.

Complete with animatronic creatures and lots of creepy stuff for people to walk through before they even enter the staging area. This return to a night show has been a long…long time coming and when the venue we have been using was no longer available to us, I knew the time came to bring the show back to its roots as a night… all-adult show. Blood Fest 1 started at the Darress Theater in Boonton New Jersey in 2003 with bands, movies, haunted tunnel, costume, and scream contests. We then moved the show to the large Queens Library in Flushing New York in 2008 where it played until 2019 before COVID stopped it in its tracks. Now Blood Fest is back and we are looking very much forward to playing an all-new venue as well as expanding the haunted house. We hope anyone within driving range will come to this new show and more info can be found on our website.

So now enjoy BMR’s new issue and Happy Halloween from all of us here at Blood Moon Rising.
