Nightmare News: Bleed All About It

By Dark Soul

Halloween Ends is said to be the last of the new trilogy of films to reboot the long-running franchise. What began with Halloween, Halloween Kills and the last in the series of reboots Halloween Kills is said to be the end of the killer Michael Myers. We shall see!

Hellraiser is getting a remake said to be released in 2022 with an all-new Pinhead as the lead of the Cenobites. This time Pinhead is said to be a more gender-fluid creature than we have seen before when played previously played by Doug Bradley. Although this was how the character was written in the original story by author Clive Barker, we will see if this new Pinhead will translate to film when the movie comes out later this year or early 2023.

Leatherface made a comeback with yet another Texas Chainsaw movie that went straight to streaming instead of a theater release. It was said that the movie would have been theatrically released but due to setbacks with COVID and other factors, the movie was released directly to Netflix and bypassed the theaters altogether.

Besides Michael Myers, Halloween will bring a new scary monster to the season with October Boy in the movie Dark Harvest. This creature is said to terrorize the people of a small Midwestern town that he haunts each October as he comes from the cornfields with his butcher knife in hand. The proposal sounds good and this may just be the start of a new Halloween monster to join Myers and Sam from Trick R Treat. With a release date of September 9, 2022, we will see if October Boy can stack up.

Another remake of Salem’s Lot is set for release in September 2022 and is based on the book by horror master Stephen King. This would be the third time his 1975 novel has been adapted into a film, the first being the 1979 mini-series and later the mid-90s mini-series. Should be interesting to see how this one turns out.

Maybe the one movie most people are looking forward to is Jeepers Creepers Reborn! Said to be a complete reboot and not follow the events of Jeepers Creepers 3 will see the creature The Creeper return as he haunts a woman named Laine is follows her boyfriend to a Horror Hound convention where she sees visions of The Creeper. Not sure how this is going to play out in the mythology of the creature we know and love, but I guess we will have to see. Set to release in either late 2022 or early 2003.

A movie idea that has been talked about for about ten or more so years now is The Last Voyage of The Demeter, the Russian sailing ship that brings Dracula to London. The movie was in the planning stages like fprever and is now, at last, getting a release date of January 27 2023. It will show the mostly passed over events in most films of what happened onboard the ship The Demeter when night after night the vampire sort out its crew members killing everyone on board the vessel before her reaches the London port. It was a single chapter in the Stoker novel and rarely the focus in movies but now we will at last see what materialized during Dracula’s onboard rampage.
