JUDSON MICHAEL AGLAARTIST STATEMENT BONE STUDY SERIES
The impetus behind this series came quite abruptly, I am primarily a visual artist but have been engaged in only writing for the past couple of years. Then one day I just took out the sketch book and started drawing again. I decided to begin with the anatomy as the architecture of the body has always been an interest of mine, especially the bones. With every piece I began to abstract the shapes and manipulate the bones into other forms. I became so engulfed in this process that I was turning out one piece every twenty-four hours, and with every new work the form and shapes began to move further away from the bones themselves. A strange and spontaneous metamorphosis began to come into fruition and the original bone structure began to disappear and became something entirely different and new.
